Culture and History. Jalon Valley is famous for its wine cellars and for the storage of these wines (called bodegas). Jalon produces Moscatel, a typical Spanish drink, for this region of Spain. In the vicinity there are several bodegas which can be visited to try local wines.

In 1427 the Arabs who occupied Spain were sending regular shipments of wine to the Valencia’s government. Wine production was the main branch of the Valencian economy for centuries. Wines from Jalon have got so called "denominación de origen" Alicante.

On the last Saturday in April there is the Fiesta de Romero. On the last Saturday of July there is Moros y Christianos.
